The second Annual Latin American Conference for Teacher-research in ELT was held on Saturday 6 May 2017 at the Instituto de Educación Superior en Lenguas Vivas “Juan Ramón Fernández”, Buenos Aires.

The conference featured presentations by 2016-17 British Council Aptis Action Research Award Scheme (ARAS) winners and by other teacher-researchers across Latin America.
Apart from bringing its own ARAS winners to the conference, British Council Aptis for Teachers offered seven scholarships to help cover travel costs within Latin America for other participants. The IATEFL Research SIG also offered one such scholarship.
This one-day conference was co-organized by:

- APIBA (Asociación de Profesores de Inglés de Buenos Aires)
- FAAPI (Federación Argentina de Asociaciones de Profesores de Inglés).
The Third Annual Latin American Conference for Teacher-research in ELT is likely to be in Bogota, Colombia on 11-12 May 2018.
